Jeanelle Aquilina, Head of Direct Tax and Corporate Services at Tri-Mer, has been appointed President of BPW Valletta Malta, following the organisation’s recent Annual General Meeting.
BPW Valletta Malta forms part of the wider Business and Professional Women (BPW) network, a global organisation focused on advancing women in business and professional environments through mentoring, advocacy, and international collaboration. Jeanelle’s appointment places her at the forefront of this work locally, while also connecting her to a broader international platform.
At Tri-Mer, Jeanelle is recognised for her leadership within the firm’s tax and corporate services practice. Her appointment to BPW reflects a natural extension of this role, bringing her experience into a wider context of policy engagement, community-building, and professional development.
Speaking following her appointment, Jeanelle noted her appreciation for the outgoing Board and highlighted the importance of continuity and collaboration in building on the organisation’s foundations. Looking ahead, her focus will centre on delivering meaningful initiatives for members, encouraging engagement, and strengthening the organisation’s presence within both the local and international BPW community.
Her presidency has already begun with international involvement, having recently represented BPW at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York. The event brought together global stakeholders to discuss key issues relating to women’s rights, offering an opportunity to engage with policymakers and strengthen international networks.
As she begins her three-year term, Jeanelle is expected to build on BPW Valletta Malta’s existing work, with an emphasis on connection, accessibility, and creating initiatives that deliver lasting value to members and the wider community.
