BKR member firm UNW has promoted Danny Malone to Transaction Services Partner, reflecting the continued growth of the Newcastle-based firm’s dedicated due diligence offering.
Danny joined UNW in February 2024 as a Senior Manager with responsibility for developing the firm’s due diligence capability. Since then, the team has expanded significantly, advising businesses, investors, lenders and public sector organisations on acquisitions, financing and investment activity across the UK.
In the 12 months to August 2026, UNW’s Transaction Services team advised on 19 due diligence transactions valued between £1 million and £30 million, while also supporting businesses in accessing more than £40 million in grant funding nationally. The team works with clients ranging from serial acquirers and private equity-backed businesses to regional funders and government-backed organisations.
The growth of the practice has been supported by continued investment in specialist talent. Recent developments include the appointment of Stephen Twaddle from Deloitte, the promotion of Lara Marshall to Grants Support Services Senior Manager, Chris Newman’s progression into a dedicated management role within the Due Diligence team, and the secondment of Matthew Pinkney from Audit. UNW’s wider 14-person Deal Advisory team has also been strengthened by the arrival of Lewis Govenlock from Johnston Carmichael and the promotion of Ed Booth to Manager.
