Published on Apr 2nd, 2025

Schiff-Martini & Cie. GmbH (SMC), a leading auditing and tax advisory firm based in Frankfurt am Main, has appointed two new partners: Sebastian Weimer and Steffen Schreiner. The appointments, effective 1 April 2025, underscore SMC’s commitment to nurturing internal talent and promoting long-term career development within the firm.

With a team of around 100 professionals, SMC specialises in supporting the German subsidiaries of foreign companies, currently serving over 600 subsidiaries from 40 countries. The majority of its clients are headquartered in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan.

Sebastian Weimer has been with SMC since the beginning of his career, starting with a dual study Bachelor of Arts program. Since qualifying as a tax advisor in 2017, he has led the Accounting Advisory Services team. His work spans financial statement preparation, accounting, tax compliance, and advising international clients.

Steffen Schreiner, a seasoned business economist and tax advisor, joined SMC in 2017 after several years at a Big Four firm, including an international assignment in India. At SMC, he leads the Payroll Services team and is an expert in wage tax, social security law, and expatriate taxation.

Both new partners are recognised for their exceptional expertise, leadership, and dedication to clients and colleagues alike.

“The appointment of Sebastian and Steffen reflects our corporate culture,” said Managing Partner Anita Bolkovac. “Those who are committed and take on responsibility have a future with us.”

Expanding the partnership is not only a significant step for the company but also a response to the increasing demands in the tax advisory and auditing sector.

“The demand for highly qualified tax advisors and auditors is higher than ever in light of growing regulatory requirements and global challenges. With this step, we are sending a clear signal for sustainable growth and long-term stability,” explains Peter Zimmermann, Managing Partner.

SMC’s core business is focussed on providing German subsidiaries of foreign groups with a full-service concept: From start-up advice with legal and tax structuring, accounting, payroll and compliance, tax advice, M&A transaction advice, visa and work permit services, to support in selecting a business location, with notarial services, legal and general business advice together with the respective cooperation partners.
