This week, ht.digital was on the ground in Malta, engaging with regulators and industry stakeholders to support the continued development of regulation and compliance in the digital assets space, while also celebrating the launch of the firm’s new Malta office.
Leading the visit were Ian Mercieca and Marco Mercieca, who head up ht.digital’s Malta office and are actively involved in supporting compliance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) through attestations and audit. They were joined by Ian Taylor, contributing to discussions focused on regulatory alignment, audit readiness, and best practice within the jurisdiction.
Through open dialogue and knowledge sharing, the team worked alongside local institutions and industry participants to help advance Malta’s position as a leading and well-regulated hub for digital assets.
The ht.digital team extended special thanks to Joseph Tabona for hosting them during the visit, as well as FinanceMalta, the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners, the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA), the Malta Digital Innovation Authority, and Clyde Caruana, Minister of Finance, for taking the time to meet and engage.
The office launch was attended by key figures from across the digital asset and financial services community, including Jesmond Gatt, Chairman of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), alongside representatives from:
- Sofia Maria Cucciniello and Florentina Amore – Blockchain.com
- Mariana Kushev – Crypto.com
