BKR EMEA Regional Conference 2026 Brings Members Together in Marrakech

Published on Jun 23rd, 2026

BKR members from across the EMEA region gathered in Marrakech, Morocco, from 13–15 June for the 2026 BKR EMEA Regional Conference, bringing together firm leaders, future leaders, technology innovators, and industry experts for three days of learning, collaboration, and connection.

Hosted in partnership with Corporate Value Advisory (CVA), the conference explored some of the key issues shaping the future of the profession, including leadership, resilience, artificial intelligence, and talent development.

Delegates heard from Biliana Todorova, Ayo Johnson, Dimitris Dimitriadis, and Alastair Greener, who shared insights on high-performance leadership, AI-driven decision-making, and managing multi-generational workforces.

The conference also celebrated the graduation of the latest EMEA Future Leaders cohort and welcomed this year’s EMEA Scholarship recipient, reflecting BKR’s continued investment in developing future talent across the region.

“The business sessions were very good. Hotel and dinners were excellent. A very memorable conference,” commented one delegate.

A major milestone for the region was the launch of the inaugural BKR EMEA Tech Summit, reflecting the growing importance of technology and AI across the profession.

The Summit brought together firm leaders, industry experts and technology partners to explore the practical opportunities and challenges facing accounting and advisory firms. Sessions covered AI adoption, automation, operational efficiency and the future of firm leadership, with contributions from Dan Boyles of HelloAI Collective, strategic partner Laurel, and technology partners Archie, Acting Office and Tensense.ai.

Members also took the opportunity to recognise important leadership transitions within the association. Delegates thanked Micheal Burch for his service as CEO as he prepares to conclude his tenure and recognised Iulia Lascau as she approaches the end of her term as EMEA Board Chair.

Members also welcomed the election of Amanda Couzi and Donovan Fraser to the EMEA Board and looked ahead to Peter Zimmermann and Daniel Walters assuming the roles of Chair and Vice Chair respectively from 1 July.

Beyond the business programme, members strengthened existing relationships and built new connections across the region. Delegates also experienced the culture and hospitality of Morocco through a programme of local activities, culminating in a Gala Dinner in the Palmeraie featuring traditional music, cultural performances and local cuisine.

“The Gala Dinner was fantastic and gave a real insight into a true Moroccan experience,” noted one attendee.

The 2026 EMEA Regional Conference demonstrated the strength of the BKR community and its shared commitment to collaboration, innovation, and leadership development.

BKR International extends its sincere thanks to all speakers, delegates, sponsors, technology partners, companions and volunteers who contributed to the success of the conference, with special thanks to Corporate Value Advisory and Marouane Mouafir for their hospitality and support throughout the event.

We look forward to continuing the conversations started in Marrakech and welcoming members to future BKR events across the region.
