The Alas Oplas & Co., CPAs (AOC) Team, a BKR member firm, participated in an in-person training led by Partner Kate Douglass and Senior Accountant Linden Williamson from Walker Wayland NSW (WWNSW) in Sydney, Australia, also a BKR member. The WWNSW team visited the Philippines to personally conduct the annual training, featuring hands-on sessions and updates designed to further enhance technical capability and service delivery.
Ahead of the training, WWNSW Partners Wali Aziz and Edward Chow met with AOC Chairman Donnies Alas and Managing Partner Ryan Sabug for a welcome golf session at Eagle Ridge Golf & Country Club, followed by dinner with AOC CEO Marycris Oplas at Jade Garden in Makati. They also met the AOC team at The City Club, Makati to discuss ongoing engagements, collaboration priorities, and future secondment opportunities.
While training, upskilling, and team development were at the core of Walker Wayland’s visit, what truly made the experience meaningful was the opportunity to connect in person—building relationships beyond the screen and reinforcing the trust that anchors the partnership.
From hands‑on sessions to team dinners, shared activities, and welcoming the Lunar New Year together, the week was marked by growth and genuine connection. Coming together face‑to‑face reminded the team that their strength lies in being one team, united by a shared vision. This initiative also reflects the continued collaboration among BKR member firms, strengthening shared expertise and reinforcing global partnerships.
