Recent collaboration between Lince Salisbury Limited’s sister company Avenue Trust Company (Guernsey) and Tri-Mer (Malta) highlights how established relationships within BKR International can translate into effective cross-border delivery.
The engagement began through a returning adviser relationship, with Irish-based advisers introducing clients requiring a combination of onshore and offshore structures. Guernsey was selected as the offshore jurisdiction, and where Maltese-managed entities were needed, ATC approached Tri-Mer directly. The firm confirmed its involvement immediately, allowing the work to move forward without delay.
The clients’ structures spanned multiple jurisdictions, requiring coordination across entity setup, compliance, and ongoing management. ATC and Tri-Mer worked together from the outset, aligning responsibilities by jurisdiction – Tri-Mer taking on director roles for Maltese entities, and ATC managing the Guernsey fiduciary structures. This ensured a consistent and coordinated approach for clients.
The collaboration quickly became reciprocal. While ATC introduced Tri-Mer into its engagements, Tri-Mer also referred clients requiring Guernsey fiduciary services back to ATC. Several matters were completed jointly over a four-month period, representing a significant volume of work for both firms.
As Nico Alexandre, Client Services Director at Avenue Trust Company, noted:
“What made this work wasn’t the process – it was the trust. We were comfortable putting our clients in front of Tri-Mer, and they were comfortable doing the same with us. That kind of mutual confidence… comes from years of working together.”
The collaboration reflects the complementary strengths of both firms, combining Guernsey fiduciary expertise with Maltese corporate and governance capabilities to support increasingly complex client requirements. It also highlights how firms operating in specialised jurisdictions can extend their reach and deliver coordinated solutions through established relationships, creating opportunities that go beyond their domestic markets.
