St. Clair CPA Solutions (Philadelphia Region) News and Announcements


St. Clair CPA Solutions congratulates Stephanie Sommers, CPA, the firm’s Controller and Human Resources Manager, on her recent election to the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) 2018-19 slated National Board of Directors. Ms. Sommers is presently serving as AFWA Philadelphia’s Immediate Past President, and will begin her term on AFWA’s National Board on July 1, 2018.  

Ms. Sommers has been an active member of the AFWA Philadelphia chapter since 2008. Over the past decade, she has served on various committees and held the positions of Vice President and President. As she prepares to join the National Board of Directors, she says, “AFWA has helped me to grow professionally, so I know firsthand how the organization supports the advancement of women in the accounting and finance fields. I am looking forward to expanding my role with AFWA at the national level, as well as the opportunity to bring information back to share with AFWA Philadelphia.”  

Ms. Sommers started at St. Clair CPA Solutions as a college intern in 2003. Upon receiving her B.S. in Accounting from West Chester University (PA) that same year, she joined the firm as a staff accountant. She now serves as the firm’s Controller and Human Resources Manager.

Speaking Engagements

Colleen E. Levin, CPA, a Principal of the firm, will present a seminar on Starting Your New Franchise Business at The Franchise Show New York/New Jersey, on Saturday, February 17 at 2:30 pm at the Meadowlands Expo Center.  Ms. Levin most recently spoke about the franchise industry in November 2017, at The Franchise Show Pennsylvania, where she shared valuable advice based on her broad experience working with franchisors and franchisees. 

On December 13, 2017, Frances Sperling Feldbaum, CPA, a Principal of the firm, presented “Financial Literacy for Nonprofit Executives and Board Members” as a featured speaker and panelist for The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia’s Nonprofit Seminar on Nonprofit Fiscal Health Check: Maximizing Operations with Sound Governance. St. Clair CPA Solutions was a proud sponsor of the program, which was attended by nearly 100 nonprofit executives and administrators.

In March 2018, Ms. Feldbaum will present her financial literacy program to the Greater Philadelphia Chamber’s Arts & Business Council “Business on Board” leadership program, which trains businesspeople for nonprofit board service, and which she attended as a member of the Business on Board Class of 2013. Upon completing the program, Ms. Feldbaum joined the Board of Directors of BalletX in 2013 and now serves as the acclaimed dance company’s Treasurer.
