On Thursday, July 19th, Nisivoccia LLP employees who wore jeans to work donated money to our not-for-profit client, United Way of Hudson County. Established in 1936, United Way of Hudson County envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability and healthy lives. The United Way of Hudson County improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of the community to advance the common good.
On Thursday, July 12th, Raymond Nisivoccia, CPA, Founding Partner, was selected as a NJBIZ 2018 ICON Honors Award Winner. The ICON Honors awards recognizes New Jersey business leaders over the age of 60 for their notable success and demonstration of strong leadership both within and outside of their chosen field. Winners will be honored during an awards ceremony on August 23rd.
In the Community
On Wednesday, July 18th, Glenn Schwier, CPA, JD and Harlene Stevens, CPA, hosted a “Tax Reform for Attorneys” seminar at the Mount Arlington Nisivoccia LLP office. Topics for discussion included:
- Who is impacted by tax reform?
- How do attorneys start planning for changes in tax law for clients and themselves?
- How does loss of alimony deduction effect settlement agreements?
- In divorce, who receives the increased child tax credit?
By the end of the morning, about 40 attorneys attended the seminar.
