Denim Days

On Friday, May 18th, Nisivoccia LLP employees who wore jeans to work donated money to our not-for-profit client, the Mount Olive Food Pantry. The Mount Olive Food Pantry believes that no one should go to bed hungry and urges Mount Olive residents to visit the pantry if they find their grocery dollars are no longer stretching far enough.


On Tuesday, May 1st, Nisivoccia LLP was named one of the 2018 NJBIZ Best Places to Work in New Jersey. This marked the sixth consecutive year that Nisivoccia LLP has earned this distinction and was ranked #12 out of 100 companies in the small/medium size business category for 2018.

In the Community

The women of Nisivoccia LLP hosted the bi-annual Connecting Women2Women Networking event on Thursday, May 3rd. The event was hosted at Redwoods Bar & Grill in Chester where guests were treated to a wine pairing dinner. Nisivoccia LLP continues to organize this women’s event to bring together women from the area to foster communications, establish relationships and create opportunities.

On Thursday, May 10th, Nisivoccia LLP awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Jillian Wilson, an accounting student at Montclair State University. Jillian has achieved a 3.9 GPA in the Department of Accounting and Finance Honors Program. This was done as part of the Montclair State University 2017 Scholarship Awards Program.

Kathi Mantell, CPA, Partner, and Andrew Kucinski, CPA, Manager, presented to the Bergen County Association of School Business Officials on Thursday, May 17th. Kathi and Andrew presented planning and updates for the June 30, 2018 school audits and covered topics such as estimating year end surplus, developing budget tactics, uniform guidance procurement rules, audit findings and recommendations.

Also on Thursday, May 17th, the Nisivoccia Young Professionals hosted their annual Young Professionals Networking Happy Hour at South Street Social in Morristown. The purpose of the two-hour long event was to encourage individuals between 21 and 40-years-old to gather and make meaningful business relationships.

On Wednesday, May 23rd, Doug Collins, CPA, Partner, and Glenn Schwier, CPA, JD, Principal, presented “The Tax Cuts & Jobs Act of 2017: How it will impact you personally” at the Laddey, Clark & Ryan LLP office in Sparta. Doug and Glenn covered topics such as comparison of individual tax rates 2017 law vs. 2018 tax reform, standard deductions and personal exemptions and other personal provisions.

On Wednesday, May 30th, Nisivoccia LLP hosted the annual “Preparing for your Audit” seminar for our school board clients. The event was hosted at Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph, and was a information packed morning with presentations on preparing for your audit, audit comments and recommendations and financial essentials.
