On Friday, December 8, Nisivoccia LLP employees who wore jeans to work donated money to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. According to their website, St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center is dedicated to the humane treatment of animals and believe in providing services that support the human-animal bond and seek to foster an environment in which people respect all living creatures.
In December 2017, Valerie Dolan, CPA, Partner, was named Roxbury Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Person of the Year. Valerie has been a part of the Chamber for over five years and currently serves as the treasurer.
On December 19, Nisivoccia LLP partners announced the following promotions:
Chris Perrotta, was promoted from Principal to Partner.
Raymond A. Sarinelli, Jr. and Glenn Schwier were promoted from Managers to Principals.
Vivian Fischer and Andrew Kucinski were promoted from Supervisors to Managers.
Caitlin Jannucci was promoted from Supervising Senior to Supervisor.
Taylor Meytrott and Candy Repsher were promoted from Seniors to Supervising Seniors.
Michael Warshany was promoted from Staff to Semi-Senior.

On Friday, December 1, Nisivoccia LLP was the Platinum Sponsor for the Morris County Chamber of Commerce Women In Business Luncheon. Nisivoccia LLP’s Harlene Stevens, CPA, also gave a brief overview of the proposed tax changes. The luncheon was held at The Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, and had an attendance of over 200 women.
On Saturday, December 2, Man Lee, CPA, attended the New Jersey Red Cross Adopt-a-Unit event. All those whose who attended were able to send two truck-load of goods to the joint base in New Jersey, over 150 boxes to 6 New Jersey units serving overseas and several items to our homeless veterans.
On Wednesday, December 6, Nisivoccia LLP’s Melany Dreifus taught an introduction to QuickBooks Account Software course to over 15 women at the NORWESCAP Career & Life Transitions Center. The goal of the course was to help train for and provide these women with a flexible and steady career beyond becoming daycare workers or caregivers.
On Friday, December 8, Nisivoccia LLP hosted a Certified Municipal Financial Officers Roundtable at the Mount Arlington office. The event had a great turn out with over 35 CMFOs in attendance. Elke Yetter, Chief Financial Officer of Vernon Township, and Robert H. Beinfield, Bond Counsel of Hawkins Delafield & Wood LLP, gave a presentation on “IRS Audit of a Municipal Bond Sale.” Bud Jones then lead a general roundtable discussion on budgeting, planning and year-end reporting.
On Tuesday, December 12, Marcia Geltman, CPA, Partner, and Glenn Schwier, CPA, JD, hosted a “Timely Topics for Attorneys” Seminar at the Mount Arlington Nisivoccia LLP Office. Marcia and Glenn covered topics such as: Post mortem and trust elections, 2017 trust tax rates, estate special rules and how to plan ahead for excess losses and deductions. Over 45 attorneys were in attendance.
On Wednesday, December 13, Man Lee, CPA, spoke at the Hunterdon County Municipal Clerks’ Association Mini Conference. The conference was hosted at the Riverview Banquet Hall in Bloomsbury, where Man presented on Municipal Budget and Finance Updates.
