Mize Houser & Company P.A.'s (Topeka) Restaurant Group Launches Controllership Services for McDonald’s Restaurant Clients
Mize Restaurant Group announces a new service, Mize Restaurant Group Controllership Services, to help McDonald’s Owner/Operators manage their accounting, financial, payroll and internal controls. Greg Harry and Christy Gurney, who have joined the Mize Restaurant Group team to work with McDonald’s Owner/Operators nationwide.
Mize Restaurant Group Controllership Services offers Owner/Operators a suite of services ranging from helping owners with bank reconciliations, financial reports, forecasting, cash flow reports and analysis, payroll management, cash control policies, inventory control procedures, vendor payment and other related services.
“Many McDonald’s Owner/Operators have the need for controller services, but do not have the budget to hire a controller. Outsourcing this function is a cost-effective way for them to have the oversight and expertise of a controller without having to employ a full-time employee. Operating a large, mostly cash-based business has its own set of challenges, and closer oversight by an outside professional can help spot potential problems and keep the business on track,” explains Carol Casale, CPA/ABV, CVA, Shareholder, Mize Houser & Company, P.A.
Leading the Controllership Services department are Greg Harry and Christy Gurney who bring experience managing customer financial relationships in industries including commercial banking and media.
Harry brings 30 years of experience to the role which includes serving clients at Conway Bank, UMB Bank and Lyndon State Bank. His commercial lending experience with small and large businesses gives him insight to the cash flow, operational and financial needs that businesses face daily. Before his banking career, Greg worked for MedPlans 2000, an administrator for self-funded health plans, where his duties included managing and reconciling the insurance premium and claims accounts for clients, creating monthly client reports, and preparing monthly corporate financials and annual reports for the Board of Directors.
Gurney’s recent experience includes managing financial reports, day-to-day operations, policies and procedures over the last eight years for the Newcomer Funeral Service Group-Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas. Gurney also brings ten years of banking experience having managed client relationships at Capital City Bank.
“Not only are Christy and Greg experienced with the daily financial management and internal controls needs of a growing business; they both understand how important it is to be collaborative with clients. Mize Houser has a culture of building trusted, long-term relationships with McDonald’s Owner/Operators. Christy and Greg will bring another level of professional service to Owner/Operators who need help managing the daily or monthly accounting and financial tasks that need to be addressed,” adds Casale.
