Wayne Williams, tax partner with Metcalf Davis in Atlanta, Georgia, recently completed the AICPA Ambassador Program training sponsored by the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. The Ambassador Program prepares selected CPA representatives to promote the profession’s depth of financial knowledge, underscore the AICPA and state societies’ effectiveness as advocates for the public interest, and refocus the spotlight on the profession so that it shines on the values of the CPA.  Ambassadors will also have the opportunity to emphasize the CPA profession’s commitment to battling fraud, improving auditing standards and quality, and shoring up small businesses that represent the main economic engine of this country through presentations to community and business leaders, employers, legislators, and others, as well as the media.
